September 30 to October 3, 2010 Retreat  CROPTOBERFEST/SOCKTOBERFEST ARRIVES..... And we are SOLD out!
The original "Oktoberfest" occurred in Munich, on October 18, 1810: For the commemoration of their marriage, Crown Prince Ludwig (later King Ludwig I) and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen (namesake of the Theresienwiese festival grounds) organized a great horse race (the marriage took place on October 12; the horse race on October 17 — therefore, there are different dates named as being the first Oktoberfest).

The original SOCKTOBERFEST starts this weekend, as a self confessed Sock Monkey addict, this weekend will be dedicated to the sock monkey!

A new item for the 2010 retreats will be our mini garage sales.  Bring any quilting or scrapbooking items with you that you would like to sell (personal items only please no retail or shops).  In other words, if you bought a ruler or a special stamp set and now you realize you don't use it as often as you thought you would, bring it along, put a price on it, and your name and who knows, it might turn into another persons treasure.  This is a great way to increase your stash and supplies at a much cheaper rate and to "clean up" your own stash by selling your own stuff.  You are responsible for your own items, cash transactions, etc. we do not accept responsibility for anyone's items.

I will be bringing out both scrapbooking and quilting items.  This new endeavour will be our year long event to help everyone to clean up and organize their crafting supplies and areas!
